2. Contribution limits with Roth IRAs are not fixed and may increase over time.

Within the system of Roth IRAs, there is acknowledgement of the crises of inflation. Therefore, the limits placed upon contribution are reviewed periodically and may increase every few years, based upon rates of inflation. It is noteworthy that this is a provision within the system and liable to economic contingencies and change.
As of 2015 and beyond (till changed), anyone younger than 50 years of age can put in $5,500 into their IRA account annually. Those over 50 can contribute up to $6,500 in a year. Usually, annual contributions are calculated based on those made between April 15th of one year to the next.
